Mr. Kiran Prakash Saakha, President of Garment Association – Nepal, led the delegation, today, comprising of 2nd Vice President, Mr. Prashanta Kumar Pokharel, General Secretary, Mr. Udaya Raj Pandey and Joint Secretary, Mr. Jay Prakash Agrawal, at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies and the Ministry of Water resources. The delegates had apprised Honorable Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Mr. Hari Bahadur Basnet, Secretary, Mr. Dinesh Chandra Pyakurel and the Secretary at the Ministry of Water Resources, Dr. Kishor Babu Aryal, about the development of recent US visit of Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Madhu Raman Acharya and the President of GAN, Mr. Kiran Prakash Saakha. During the meeting, the delegates had disclosed the matter that some of the American Senators had seriously taken the issue of payment dispute between Panda Energy International and Nepal Electricity Authority with regard to the Bhotekoshi Power Project and linked with the passing of the garment bill. They have earnestly pleaded to Minister and Secretaries that HMG of Nepal should take strong measure to solve the payment dispute between PEI and NEA amicably without any delay.
The Minister and Secretaries had expressed their positive views that they will take effective measure in resolving the payment dispute between PEI and NEA at the earliest possible and also assured the delegates to accelerate the economic diplomacy in the support of the garment bill.
